About Lirix

A friendly, private Linux, made with care.

The name

Lirio is the Spanish word for lily, the flower in the Lirix logo. It's also the family name of Lirix's creator, Willy Lirio.

Lirix is made by Willy Lirio and The Lirix Project.

What Lirix is for

Lirix is for people who want a computer that feels familiar, respects their privacy, and just works. It sets sensible defaults so you don't have to: a Windows-like layout, a privacy-friendly browser, and no data sent home.

Based on Debian

Lirix is built on Debian 13 "trixie", a free operating system made by thousands of volunteers since 1993. Lirix uses Debian's software and security updates, and adds its own look, settings and tools on top. A big thank you to the Debian and KDE communities, whose work makes Lirix possible.

Lirix is based on Debian. Debian is a registered trademark of Software in the Public Interest, Inc. Lirix is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Debian project.

When reporting a problem, please include what you were doing, what happened, and a screenshot if you can. Running fastfetch in a terminal shows your system details, which also helps.
